Frames

General Frame Line

While Master Framers is generally known for its custom closed corner frames, we are also pleased to offer competitively priced typical chop and join frames in one of the widest selections available. We can frame anything from family photos, diplomas and awards, paintings, prints, posters, medals and memorabilia, to garments and hand needlework. We carry an extensive array of samples from over ten different frame suppliers in everything from basic metal frames for posters to unique wood patterns reminiscent of old world finishes.

If you want to make your chop and join frame a bit more "special", Master Framers can add a decorative corner to the frame, tone the finish, and make it look like a more expensive hand finished frame.

Custom Frames

Detail of hand carved frame

At Master Framers, we have the ability to mill our own mouldings and create our own very custom frames to order. While we have over 300 different profile knives (shapes) to choose from, we often design new knives to use, based on drawings our customers bring to us, or from historical frames we have seen. This variety is what allows us to create special frames for your art. Our custom frames are built and finished one at a time, measured to fit precisely and to allow the proper depth for canvases or other special depth requirements. In addition, our staff can hand carve a frame or use a decorative corner or pattern from the collection of over 2000 composition molds that we own. We can also make our own molds by casting patterns from antique frames or by hand carving a design that we want to duplicate.

Our finish possibilities cover a wide spectrum as well, from natural woods, stains, paints, metal leaf and karat golds in white, yellow and hues in between. Each frame is toned to work with your artwork. Attention to detail is as important to us as it is to you.

Museum Frames

reference books

Many museums, fine art collectors and art dealers prefer to have historically accurate reproduction frames made for their art. We call these kinds of frames our Museum Frames. Utilizing our extensive reference library, we will do the research and create a frame from any period, in about any style. Frames we have made hang in many locations across the United States, including major art museums, state capitols, historic buildings, presidential libraries, churches, universities and in the homes of private collectors.

Frames for Artists

Sarah Wieben

Are you an artist looking for something more than the mass produced frames you see so often? Master Framers loves to work with artists, creating a signature frame they can call their own. We have collaborated with artists who supply their own raw frames, allowing us to design a finish that enhances their work. We have also designed profiles and finishes for artists that we do not sell to anyone else. If this is something that interests you, please contact us to discuss the options in more detail.
